In a major development, Inzamam was named chief selector yesterday while Babar Azam and Mickey Arthur were assured of their place till the next ODI world cup i.e. to be played in India later in the year.

Babar Azam & Mickey Arthur To Lead The Dugout, Inzamam Takes Over As Chief Selector
While announcing Inzamam-ul-Haq has Pakistan Cricket Board’s next chief selector, chairman PCB, Zaka Ashraf said, “I am delighted that Inzamam-ul-Haq has agreed to head our national men’s selection committee at a crucial juncture. He is a legend and has served the game with dignity. Inzamam’s last tenure brought us success as we not only won the ICC Champions Trophy, but also unearthed some outstanding talent that continues to serve Pakistan cricket to date. I have no doubt that his new innings will add to the laurels and bring more talented cricketers to light.”

While announcing that Babar Azam and Mickey Arthur will stay till the next world cup, Ashraf said, “I believe this team is performing and we should not disturb them. Currently, we have no intention to change the coaching staff or players. We already discussed this with our technical committee. We will give them time as Asia Cup and World Cup are just around the corner.”
