Promoting him up the order would give him the platform to showcase his talent properly and provide Pakistan with a fresh and aggressive option at the top.

An Extra Pacer Over Faheem Ashraf
While Faheem Ashraf has contributed with bat and ball, Pakistan need more firepower with the ball against Bangladesh. Their batters are comfortable against spinners and medium pacers, which is why Mohd. Wasim Jr. could be a handy option. He brings raw pace, sharp yorkers, and wicket-taking ability—qualities Pakistan will need not only against Bangladesh but also against India if they make the final.
Moreover, Haris Rauf is less effective in the power play. Having an extra pacer like Wasim Jr. would allow the skipper to hold Haris back for later overs, where his pace and aggression can have maximum impact.
