Imam who has not been top form in the tournament so far, while referring to the previous game against Australia said, “When you are chasing 367, you have to take risks. I agree that we haven’t played well in the last two matches. We have analyzed our situation and so, you’ll see a different team tomorrow. Losing two consecutive matches spoils your morale but we back each other and the management is backing the players as well. We are confident that we can get back on track after winning against Afghanistan. We weren’t able to convert the 70s or 80s into a century. We’ve sought help from the coaching staff.”

While shedding light on Pakistan’s poor bowling performance in the tournament Imam further said, “Bowlers of all the teams are conceding runs and so, it’s not just us. Shaheen bowled well against Australia. We defeated Afghanistan in spinning conditions in Hambantota (during the Asia Cup). Our record in Chennai gives us hope of a positive result but we will need to play our best game.”
