Top Five
If there are no injuries then Pakistan’s top five batsmen are expected to be the same as the previous Test. This then means that Abid Ali, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Babar Azam and Asad Shafiq are all likely to retain their place in the playing eleven not only during the opening Test at Rawalpindi but also throughout during Pakistan’s Test Series against Bangladesh.
Six, Seven And Eight
Misbah-ul-Haq and skipper Azhar Ali might replace Haris Sohail who batted at number six during the previous Test with the experienced middle-order batsman Fawad Alam. Wicket-keeper batsman Mohd. Rizwan however, is likely to bat number six instead of number seven if the team management decides to play an all-rounder.
Given such a scenario, Faheem Ashraf should bat at number seven. Nevertheless, he will only get the opportunity if the wicket is supportive towards the pace bowlers.
Spin bowling all-rounder Bilal Asif on the other hand might feature at ahead of Faheem Ashraf if the conditions are conducive to spin bowling and/or if the selectors decide to drop the out-of-form Yasir Shah.

Fast Bowlers
Mohd. Abbas, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah are likely to feature during the Test series as Pakistan’s first choice pacers. Imran Khan senior then might only play in case of an injury.
