Pakistan is home to some of the most creative and imaginative minds. Our Desi artists, with their quick-witted humor, are one of the best content creators out there. One of these artists is the self-taught illustrator who goes by the name of Daft Draft.

The Canadian based Pakistani artist is known for her unconventional take on Desi cultural misappropriations. She currently has 10.7K+ followers on Instagram and the number is increasing with each passing day.

Speaking about the intention behind her project, she said, “The idea behind it was lighthearted satire on South Asian culture and societal traditions. I wanted to be a part of changing perceptions, and what better way to catch someone’s attention than making them laugh.”

She further added, “I feel that people enjoy humor and so mixing important msgs and humor in my opinion can be pretty effective. I also create very nonsensical illustrations which are purely just for laughs. It’s good to mix things up.”

She left Pakistan due to some personal reasons and moved to Toronto a year and a half ago but her illustrations is a proof that she’s a Desi through and through.

So to bless your day with some light-hearted humor, here are some of her amazing illustrations which I personally love.

The greatest family movie ever to hit desi cinemas.

Tum karo toh disco, hum karein toh mujra?

When your brain is creating hopeless scenarios at 2 in the morning.

We all need one of these to use on our crushes.

The Daft Draft is surely a unique and one of its kind source of digital art and speaking about her future plans, she said,”My future plan is to expand merchandise along with the page itself; to make Daft Draft a name that everyone knows about and loves.” I hope that she keeps on growing and keeps on blessing us with the comical illustrations.
