1. M. Amir

Amir wanted to rest for a while however, the team management did not entertain his request. During the Asia Cup, 2018 then it became literally impossible to play him as he was unable to show any kind of performance.

He has been dropped for the two Test series against Australia and one can only hope that the selectors allow him a little more rest before giving him a comeback so that he is able to recover from fatigue on one hand and so that he is able to rectify technical issues that he has developed because of which he has lost the ability to swing the ball back towards a right-handed batsman.

Hasan Ali is another cricketer who is showing signs of fatigue however, he has still been selected in the Test squad that will play against Australia from the coming month. One can just hope that the management will learn from Amir’s episode and not burnout another key pacer when the world cup is only 7 or 8 months ahead of them.

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has definitely looked out of sorts while batting, keeping and while making important decisions as a skipper for the men in green. Nevertheless, he deserves to be blamed for not letting Rizwan play during the series in England wherein absence of another wicket-keeper, Saifi even played side matches!

In the best interest of Pakistan cricket and Saifi himself, Pakistan should allow him to rest in a few home games and prepare Rizwan as a backup wicket-keeper and provide sufficient experience to someone else to lead Pakistan when and if Sarfaraz is unable to play.
