Despite a One Day International (ODI) whitewash in New Zealand earlier this year, Sarfraz Ahmed enjoys a success rate of over 70 percent in the game’s format. So far, he has lead the men in green in 24 ODIs out of which Pakistan has won 17 and lost 7. This is the best record any Pakistani captain who has remained in office for 10 ODIs or more.

To his credit, Pakistan under his leadership has been able to defeat leading sides like England, South Africa and India.

Sarfraz has the best success rate for any captain who has led his team in 10 T20s or so. He has skippered Pakistan in 27 T20 internationals out of which the green shirts were able to manage victory in a phenomenal 23 games.

It is then no wonder that Pakistan under his leadership has not only been able to climb up the ladder in the ICC rankings but has also sustained its position at the top for a significant period of time now.

Sarfraz is the only Pakistani captain to have led the men in green to an ICC Champions Trophy victory and that too when the country was 9th in the ICC ODI rankings!

The wicket-keeper batsman to his credit has also led the green shirts to an ICC under-19 world cup victory and hence, let’s just hope that the 31-year-old is able to keep up the good work during Asia Cup, 2018 and the ICC World Cup next year.
