Mohd. Wasim Explains Why Hasan Ali Was Dropped
Explaining why Hasan Ali was dropped Pakistan’s chief selector said, “We have done our homework, especially for the players who have served the country well and who have won us matches. To give them a longer run is part of the plan, however there comes a point when you have to give them a break. It benefits both the individual and the team. So Hasan Ali’s case was no exception. We believe he has to regather himself and return as a match-winner. We hope the same old Hasan Ali will emerge again.”

On the other hand while explaining why Naseem Shah was selected instead Wasim said, “Naseem Shah is a quality bowler, and we have seen him with the white-ball in domestic cricket. He is express and so, we included him as an attacking option. Taking wickets is imperative in white ball cricket. He has that ability. He can swing the ball, has pace and a very good temperament. He is a good replacement for Hasan Ali.”
