The Kartarpur Corridor is being inaugurated today amid great fanfare on both sides of the border. While Pakistan is being lavished with praise for opening the border to give easy access to Sikh pilgrims to the holy site of Gurudwara Darbar Sahib, Indian media and Sikhs from all walks of life are graciously crossing through the border into Pakistan in unprecedented numbers.
The Sikh delegation features many prominent Indians, including former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. However, it is veteran Bollywood actor and BJP leader, Sunny Deol who seems to have caught the fancy of Pakistani netizens.

Known for his over-the-top action films – a number of which showed Pakistan in a bad light – Pakistanis have a love-hate relationship with this Indian star.
And so, just as images of Sunny Deol from the Kartarpur Corridor inauguration ceremony inside Pakistani territory began doing rounds, Pakistanis could not help but flood the internet with memes and hilarious one-liners.
Of course, many references were made to the super-human strength that Deol’s larger than life characters are known for!
Our very own, CM Punjab Usman Buzdar has also (ONCE AGAIN!) found himself the subject of jokes. This time his proximity to Sunny Deol at the Kartarpur Corridor has inspired people to create some seriously phenomenal humour.
And then there are references to Sunny’s jingoistic films that are coming back to bite the actor now that he’s in Pakistan!
