It is nearly two years since Amir retired from international cricket. He has also suffered owing to injuries during the time and his performance in the T20 leagues even otherwise, hasn’t been too impressive. Thus, asking him to comeback at this stage made no sense at all especially, because there are better options available.

Hasan Ali was dropped for the event owing to poor form and so, his selection too would have only seemed logical if he had improved dramatically during the past few weeks. Perhaps Hasan requires more time and rushing him back at this point can prove counter productive. Therefore, resting Hasan till the home series against England seems to be Pakistan’s best bet if they want the pacer ready for the #T20WorldCup in Australia.
