Fakhar Zaman Decides To Part Ways With Lahore Qalandars Before PSL 6

Announcing his decision on Twitter Fakhar posted, “Thank you, Lahore Qalandars, for the last 4 memorable seasons. You have played a huge role in my career by providing me an opportunity to showcase my skills.

“Looking forward to a new challenge in the upcoming season.”

Official Account Of PSL Was Quick To Verify

Verifying the development almost immediately after Fakhar’s announcement, the official account of PSL on twitter wrote, “Star batsman Fakhar Zaman will be moving on to another team this season.

“Which team do you think can pick Fakhar Zaman at the PSL draft.”

But Did Lahore Qalandars Sack Fakhar Zaman?

While Fakhar has made the announcement first; reality might as well be different. Fakhar hasn’t been in top form for quite a while now. He has lost his position in Pakistan’s playing eleven across formats. He hasn’t scored too many runs off late and so, there is every likelihood that the Qalandars’ management which is lead by Aaqib Javed decided to have a quite word with him before the next season, telling him to look beyond since the franchise had decided to do the same.

But, again this is all speculation and we hope Fawad Rana’s franchise provides more clarity in this regard.
