Celebrating Umer Sharif Through 5 Of His Funniest Stage Performances

Legendary comedian, Umer Sharif, who was known to spread laughter riots within Pakistan and abroad passed away after a prolonged illness. He was 66 and was undergoing treatment in Germany where he succumbed to heart and kidney ailments.

Born in Karachi, Sharif started off his career as a comedian at the age of 14 only. He managed to be the betaaj badshah of the Pakistani comedy scene for almost five decades. Owing to his wit, Sharif reached high ranks of fame as a stand-up comedian.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Umer Sharif was a household name because of his talent. His stage performances were seen regularly by the audience initially on the VHS tapes and later on DVDs.
