In a recent statement Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) refused to play the proposed two Tests in Pakistan. So, here is a look at why Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the time being should ignore BCB’s refusal to play the Test series in Pakistan and accept their offer to play T20 series instead.
Keeps The Ball Rolling
It is time for PCB to let go of their ego. We have already had a few teams who have toured the country and hence, there is a need to build up on the success. A T20 series against another Test playing nation will tick an additional box and therefore, PCB shouldn’t hesitate much and swallow the bitter pill.

Kills The Excuse For A Test Series And Can Possibly Makes Way For 2020 Asia Cup
BCB hasn’t quite refused the proposed Test series and have only requested to reschedule it at a later point. Now we all know that the BCB works under the influence of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) but then who doesn’t in international cricket these days? A successful T20 series then for sure will kill whatever lame excuse BCB has come out with and hence, make way for a full-fledged Test tour later in the year.
Also if political tensions ease with in the next few months between India and Pakistan; then the 2020 Asia Cup could also be held in Pakistan. A T20 series against Bangladesh then should set up a platform nicely for the green shirts to host a mega event down the lane.
Helps PSL
PCB like any other board needs international cricketers playing their T20 league i.e. Pakistan Super League (PSL). So, PCB mustn’t isolate itself in Asia by spoiling their relationship with BCB; something that can result in the Bangladeshi players pulling out of this year’s PSL.

PCB Can Settle The Score Anyway
If despite a successful T20 series Bangladesh doesn’t agree to touring Pakistan again for a two Test rubber; then PCB must settle the score and pull out its players from next year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Let’s not forget that Pakistan is among the best T20 sides in the world and BPL for sure, wouldn’t look as pretty as it did look this year without Pakistani cricketers participating in it.
