While explaining why Mohd. Haris was dropped from Pakistan’s T20 squad, Babar said, “I do agree Haris didn’t get proper opportunities after the 2022 T20 World Cup. However, he did get opportunity in PSL, but he didn’t perform as per our expectations. I am not saying that he is a bad player. Everyone goes through a rough patch. Furthermore, he plays in the top-order, and we already have a lot of players for top-order including me, Rizwan, Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman.”

While explaining the decision behind dropping Aamer Jamal, Babar further said, “Aamer Jamal performed in Test cricket and so his performance in the longest format of the game cannot be compared with T20s. He is a fine all-rounder. He needs some more experience under his belt which will allow him to further polish his skills.”
