What The ACC Statement Said About The Cancellation Of Asia Cup 2020
Explaining the decision a statement from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) read, “Travel restrictions, country-specific quarantine requirements, fundamental health risks and social distancing mandates have posed as substantial challenges to holding the Asia Cup. Above all, the risks related to health and safety of participating players, support staff and commercial partners, fans and the cricketing community were deemed to be significant.”

Sri Lanka To Host The Event Next Year; Pakistan’s In 2022
In a major development Sri Lanka was awarded rights to host the event in 2021 while Pakistan has secured the hosting rights for the year 2022.

Rashid Latif Slams Sourav Ganguly
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President i.e. Sourav Ganguly had announced that the event had been cancelled even before an official word came from the ACC. Hence, slamming Sourav’s gesture former Pakistani skipper, Rashid Latif tweeted, “Whether the Asia Cup is canceled or not can be decided by the Asian Cricket Council. Showing undue power will only hurt Asian countries. Ganguly should pay attention to Indian cricket and IPL.”
