Knockout phase of the football’s biggest tournament will begin tonight where 16 teams will compete with each other to get their name embossed on the trophy. Here’s all you need to know about the knockout stage of FIFA World Cup 2018!
France vs Argentina
The powerhouse of Europe and South America will go head to head in the cracking first game. Messi and co. have already faced tough times in this World Cup while the competition has been a walk in the park for the French. It yet remains to be seen whether the Argentina side can play with the same motivation they had against Nigeria or the calmness of Les Bleus will take the French to the Quarters.
Uruguay vs Portugal
Uruguay will take on the current European Champions Portugal. The contest will be a scintillating one as Uruguay has been firing at all cylinders while Portugal had a bumpy ride towards the qualification of the last 16 with Ronaldo being their savior. Japan will be contesting with the Red Devils who are unbeaten so far in the World Cup. Japan apparently will be the weakling here keeping in mind the red hot form Belgium is in at the moment. It won’t be a surprise if Japan is eliminated and Belgium makes their way forward in the tournament.
