Agha Ali Responds After Being Called Out For Body-Shaming Hina Altaf

Recently a clip of Agha Ali and Hina Altaf from Nida Yasir’s morning show went viral on social media.

During the Eid special show the duo shared that when they got married, the only promise that Agha took from Hina was that she will never get fat or gain weight.

He asked me one thing, “Please moti mat hona (Please don’t gain wait!).” Hina Altaf joked that whenever she is eating Agha walks by and remarks, “Bas eik hee wada liya tha (I only took one promise).”

Soon the clip went viral and the netizens were outraged and criticized Agha Ali and Hina Altaf for promoting fatphobia.

There were also a few who thought that it was their private matter and hence don’t deserve any criticism.

However, after receiving immense criticism on social media, Agha Ali took to Instagram and clarified his statement.

He wrote, “I asked my wife not to gain unnecessary weight. She is an actress and needs to look fit as no producer or director or writer would like to have an overweight heroine”.

He added, “She was chubby before and has worked really hard to keep fit. I myself have had a weight loss journey.”

The Khoob Seerat actor expressed is rage over being accused of body shaming. He wrote that he is not a fat-shamer and has never made fun of overweight people.
