On another night of duty, Police Constable Farhan Baig, found a jacket rolled up on the street. When he picked the jacket up, it was filled with cash. The total amount in the jacket was 1,176,000 rupees which is not an ordinary sum for a police constable.

Despite the huge number, Mr. Farhan took the amount to his superior officer, Inspector Riaz, straight away. Inspector Riaz brought Mr. Farhan to SP Police, Bilal Zafar and explained the matter at hand. Bilal Zafar lauded constable Farhan for his honesty and began the search for its owner. The owner who lost it said that he rolled up the cash in a jacket and put it in a plastic bag, to avoid theft or any other incident. He confirmed that he got the whole amount back and not a single penny was missing from it.

While it is low-key regretful that in our society, a person is getting plaudits for doing his job but this kind of behavior is rarely seen within Punjab Police. We hope that other officers will learn a lesson from it. We salute Farhan Baig for being a responsible citizen and servant of this country.
