The year 2020 badly affected the Pakistani cinema industry. Pakistani films that were meant to be released in 2020 had to be postponed due to COVID-19. So, here’s a list of exciting Pakistani movies that are worthy to wait for in 2021
1. Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad
It is an action-comedy directed by Nabeel Qureshi and starring Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa. Quaid e Azam Zindabad is certainly one of the most anticipated films scheduled to be released in 2021. The film’s teaser was released in October however, it doesn’t have a release date yet.
2. Tich Button
Tich Button marks Urwa Hocane’s debut as producer as well as Farhan Saeed’s debut on the big screen. Its a romantic action entertainer, which is directed by Qasim Ali Mureed and wrote by Faiza Iftikhar. Iman Ali, Sonya Hussain and Feroze Khan are the other cast members of the film. The film was supposed to be release on Eid ul Fitr, 2020.
This will bring Imran Ashraf to the silver screen, for the first time, and that too as a romantic hero. It is being directed by Mohammad Ehteshamuddin who made his big-screen directorial debut with Superstar. Renowned online sensation Momin Saqib has a supporting role in the film. Sohail Ahmed, Saleem Mairaj and Adnan Shah Tipu also have important roles in the film.
After Oscar Nominated Zindagi Tamasha, Sarmad Khoosat’s Kamli, starring three of his Manto co-stars i.e. Saba Qamar, Sania Saeed and Nimra Bucha would be released in 2021 i.e. if COVID-19 allows the producers to! The film is a tragic love story depicting the vibrancy and humour of rural Punjab.

This is a thrilling action comedy drama that will revolve around an ordinary person who accidently turns into a superhero. The project is directed and produced by the duo of Nabeel Qureshi and Fizza Ali Meerza. Ahmed Ali Butt then is the leading star.
6.Ishrat, Made in China
Ishrat, Made in China will mark the directorial debut of Mohib Mirza. It is considered to be one of the most expensive Pakistani films that is scheduled to be released in 2021. The film is an action-comedy including Sanam Saeed, Mohib Mirza, Shamoon Abbasi, Sara Loren, Ali Kazmi, Mani, Mustapha Chaudhry and others.

7. The Legend of Maula Jatt
Possibly the most awaited and anticipated film to be released next year is the Legend of maula Jatt. The films teaser attracted a lot of attention however, the couple of years has seen the delay in release for reason or the other. The story then is written by veteran scriptwriter Nasir Adeeb and the director is Bilal Lashari who had also directed the block-buster Waar (2013). The cast includes Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick and Gohar Rasheed.
