Mohsin Naqvi who has recently taken over as Chairman PCB, is likely to introduce a few changes after the #GeneralElections that is once he is relieved of his role as the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab and so, here is a look at three of them that the mainstream media in Pakistan is speculating about.
Mohsin Naqvi Might Bring Back Babar Azam After #GeneralElections
Reports in media suggest that Mohsin is expected to back the return of Babar Azam as the captain of Pakistan cricket team if not in all formats, then at least, in the limited overs versions of the game. It is worth mentioning here that Shan Masood replaced Babar prior to the tour of Australia as the country’s Test skipper while Shaheen Afridi was appointed to lead in the T20 format. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) however, is yet to name Babar’s replacement in the ODI format.
Mohd. Hafeez Might Be Replaced
Recent media reports also suggest that Mohd. Hafeez who is currently serving as Pakistan’s team director and head coach is facing an uphill task to sustain his position after the departure of Zaka Ashraf. It is also worth mentioning here the fact that rumors also suggest that the “Professor” has lost support of prominent senior cricketers in the side.
Amir Might Return
Mohd. Amir has retired from international cricket however, rumors suggest that Shaheen Afridi is happy playing his part to convince him to come out of retirement to play this year’s T20 world cup. Given Amir’s popularity in Pakistan, it might not be surprising if Naqvi backs such a move.
