Pakistan is criticizing Misbah-ul-Haq after being clean swept by a second string Sri Lankan team during the T20 series at home. So, here is a look at how the head coach cum chief selector is under fire and why he deserves the blame.

Poor Selection

The former captain selected tried and tested cricketers like Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal and  Faheem Ashraf who as expected disappointed again. Therefore, there is no doubt that he displayed a pretty ordinary approach by not bringing in new players in absence of  Mohd. Hafeez and Shoaib Malik. Hence, the criticism is only but natural!

A Lack Of Power Hitting

Known as “Tuk Tuk” during his playing days; Misbah’s presence in the dressing room has once more resulted in batsmen playing cautiously. It is as if the entire batting order no longer remembers what a six!

Well, that is not how you play T20 cricket and hence, the criticism. The head coach then needs to pull up his socks and install fearless brand of cricket. Otherwise, nobody would really mind him giving up the job well before his three year contract expires.

Too Tired To Field?

Some former cricketers have blamed the coaching staff for over working the boys during the training sessions. Now this has been a problem whenever a local coach has taken over and this has generally resulted in the fielding standards going down.

The head coach then is being blamed for mismanaging matters to another level – something that has left the entire nation embarrassed! Pakistan is criticizing Misbah-ul-Haq for pretty valid reason and we just hope that the 45 year old is somehow able to learn from the debacle.
