A Syrian Shawarma guy, Muhammad Adnan in Islamabad is making headlines due to the authentic taste of his recipe.

Shawarma is a Middle Eastern dish consisting of thinly sliced cuts of meat, such as chicken, beef, mutton and sometimes turkey rolled into a piece of flatbread.

Different countries add their own spices and sauces. French fries and even vegetables are also added in some variations.

How did Muhammad Adnan & his fantastic Shawarma end-up in Islamabad?

The Syrian civil war has displaced thousands of people since 2011. Muhammad Adnan is also among those who fled from Syria after the outbreak of hostilities.

This Syrian refugee came to Pakistan 5 months ago and started his own stall in F10 Markaz.

“This is a special Shawarma, which is very popular in Middle East especially in Syria. I don’t know the recipe of Pakistani Shawarma but this one takes a lot of effort to prepare.”

Muhammad Adnan says that he prepares the meat with all the spices and allows it to marinate for 24 hours. Also, the tortilla is made with homemade ingredients and he claims that his recipe cannot be found anywhere else in the country.

He also has another partner and together they are giving Islamabadis a taste of authentic Arabian Shawarma.
