Mickey Arthur’s appointment as Sri Lanka’s consultant head coach has come after he performed a similar role in Pakistan for three years. The likes of Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Mohd. Rizwan and Mohd. Abbas etc. made their Test debuts under the 51 year old. Therefore, it is only natural that the high profile coach understands the strengths and weaknesses of the entire dressing room – something that can really be of disadvantage for the men in green.

Has Grant Flower Working Under Him Again

Pakistan’s former batting coach i.e. Grant Flower will also be present in the same dressing room and hence, both Mickey and Flower are expected to exploit the weakness of every single batsman that the green shirts play during the two match rubber.

It is not even six months since Mickey was shown the door by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Thus, expect him and Grant Flower to be vengeful when they arrive in Pakistan.

It is also worth mentioning here that the green caps have lost every single Test match that they have played this year and that their ranking has dropped to the number eighth position in the ICC Test rankings. They can ill-afford another defeat but with Mickey and Flower part of the Sri Lankan dressing room, there is every probability of a yet another series defeat – something that is almost certain to end Azhar Ali’s second stint as Test captain.
