Azam during the matches against Islamabad United and Karachi Kings showed good game awareness and a pretty decent ability to hit the ball big. Hence, the 21 year old seems to be an ideal candidate for the ICC T20 world cup in case Shoaib Malik or Iftikhar Ahmed miss out for any given reason.
