Hence, it is high time that the batsmen in particular, give up this attitude of looking for excuses and instead there is a need for them to get on with the job while remaining positive.

Going into the last game of the rubber, Pakistan has little choice but to make some difficult decisions and drop players who have not done well in the previous two games. While dropping Fakhar Zaman might not be that big a deal, dropping Yasir Shah in favor of either Shadab Khan or Faheem Ashraf won’t be easy.

On enough is enough basis, the batsmen need to bat big and put up a total of somewhere around 350 to 400 runs. There is no other way out of it and if the current lot of senior batsmen like Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq can’t contribute in South Africa, then the time is right for the selectors to show them the door as soon as the series is done with!
