Indo-Pak Border Crises Remained the Top News All Week

Tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) as well as Pakistan and India’s shared border in Sialkot remained high throughout the week.

The new chapter of tensions that had begun on 14 February, following the Pulwama Attack reached its apex when an Indian Air Force Pilot was captured by Pakistan after a dogfight between the warplanes of both the countries along the LoC.

Squadron Leader Hassan Siddiqui was widely hailed as a hero in Pakistan for downing two IAF war-planes.

The captured Indian pilot, Abhinandan was however released after two days of captivity as a peace gesture by Pakistan.

The recent play-off between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings was yet another subdued game in a span of ten days between the two arch-rivals.

While Lahore Qalandars’ batting never really took-off, Karachi Kings were also unable to provide any particularly thrilling moments with the bat. Nevertheless, the game turned out to be one of the edgiest contests so far during PSL 2019.

Kings eventually won by 5 wickets, thanks to an excellentr all-round performance by Iftikhar Ahmed.

As of now, Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars have both won 3 out of the 7 matches that they have played, making them stand ahead of Multan Sultans who have only won 2 games so far.
