After a ruling of Madras High Court, the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information issued directives to Google Play Store and Apple App Store to disable the downloads of TikTok in India.
The #TikTokBan is a result of reservations by various segments of the Indian society that accused the app for lacking quality control that led to increased cyber bullying and exposure of minors to sexually explicit content.
