Yesterday, the green caps had a forgettable day during the first international assignment of their English tour. So, here is a look at a few talking points after Pakistan’s T20 loss against England.
Sarfraz’s First T20 Series Loss
This is for the first time that Sarfraz Ahmed has lost a T20 series ever since he replaced Shahid Afridi as captain in the format way back in 2016. We just hope this not the end of Pakistan’s golden run in the T20 internationals.
Pakistan’s Batting Heavily Dependent On Babar and Harris
In absence of Mohd. Hafeez and Shoaib Malik and with Sarfraz Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq out of form, Pakistan’s batting looked heavily dependent on Babar Azam and Harris Sohail.
Imam And Fakhar Need To Wake Up
Pakistani openers Imam and Fakhar have been out of form for a while. Thus, they need to wake up before Mickey Arthur and company decide to replace any one of them with Abid Ali.
Should Faheem Be Shown The Door?
Faheem Ashraf as usual was neither impressive with the bat nor with the ball. So, the time perhaps is right for him to be shown the door. The men in green are better off playing a specialist batsman or a bowler instead and for as long as Shadab is not available to them.
Either Shadab Or “The Professor” If Not Both
The English summer is not easy to predict. However, it seems like a dry one and thus, Pakistan require either Shadab Khan or Mohd. Hafeez if not both before the world cup begins in order to ensure that they have wicket takers in the middle of an innings.
There is little or no doubt that their absence was felt during the game yesterday.
