Sialkot Police Beat-up A Man Who Went Out To Buy Medicine Amid Lockdown

A video that has gone viral on social media shows police brutally torturing a citizen in Sialkot.

According to a news report by 92 News, the citizen went out to buy medicine when he was beaten-up by Sialkot police.

The citizen claims that in order to buy some medicines when he reached Kotli Behram Chowk the police stopped him. Upon inquiring, he told the police that he had come to purchase some medicines and also showed them the medical prescription.

Both the parties got involved in a verbal spat resulting in the police officers losing their cool and beating-up man for violating the lockdown.

Many called out the police for treating the man disrespectfully rather than serving as a source of facilitation.

Many other people also came forward to share that they too, had experienced similar incidents in Sialkot.

It remains a challenge for the police to ensure the implementation of the lockdown as a lot of citizens are not following the protocols amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

That said, it’s equally important to emphasize that on their part, average citizens have to step out of their houses every now and then to procure essentials and law-enforcers must not lose their calm without good reason.

After all, creating a scene like this only encourages crowds to gather and in the middle of the pandemic, that’s quite literally the last thing the law enforcers would want, no?
