Shadab Khan despite being one of the fittest players in Pakistan has missed plenty of cricket during the last few months owing to one minor injury or the other. The leg-spinner now has injured his toe and requires four weeks rest before he can resume playing cricket again.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a statement to provide an update on the issue which read as the following.

“X-rays conducted following the match revealed an intra articular communicated fracture though there is neither any displacement nor angulation. The injury will be treated conservatively and Shadab will undergo a four-week rehab.”

Who Is Likely To Replace

Leg-spinner Usman Qadir and all-rounder Mohd. Nawaz are likely to replace Shadab Khan in the ODI and T20 formats at one point or the other during the on going tours.

The injury nevertheless, is bit of a setback for Shadab who hasn’t looked in prime form for a while now. If the trend continues then Pakistan’s limited overs vice-captain might as well lose his place to either Usman or Nawaz in the coming months.
