While speaking to local media Abrar Ahmed revealed that former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed had predicted that he’ll be selected in the Pakistan team soon because of his exceptional bowling. It is worth mentioning here that the mystery spinner is part of the Test squad for the #PakvsEng Test series.
Abrar Ahmed Says That Sarfaraz Ahmed Was Confident Of His Inclusion In The Squad
While explaining what Sarfaraz had predicted Abrar said, “As I started to take wickets in 3 to 4 matches in the ongoing season of the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, my fellow teammates started to tell me that your name will be included in the squad. Sarfaraz Ahmed continuously said you are doing well, your name will be included, and you will play.”
While also referring to the fact that the chief selector used to ask about his bowling performance Abrar further said, “From that moment, I realized that my name will be called up for the national squad. Now, as my name is included, I will perform like this against England in the Test series just like I am performing for the domestic side.”
“I used to bowl finger spin with the help of tape-ball, then I joined Rashid Latif cricket academy. I belong from Shinkiari Mansehra, but I played most of my cricket in Karachi. I bowl finger spin bowling like Ajanta Mendis and Mujeeb ur Rehman and I also watch Sunil Narine’s bowling.”
“My teammates used to call me a white ball expert, but I used to tell my teammates, let me come to the red ball, I will be difficult to play, and then I proved that I am difficult to play.”
