To keep the increasing incidents of sexual violence against women in check, Punjab Police has launched an application – “Women Safety App” which allows women to contact law enforcing bodies in an emergency situation.

The Women Safety App has an option that will let victims alert Police Emergency Helpline 15 by clicking a single button. Not just that, the app will also share the whereabouts of the complainant with the police, so they can easily track down women in need of help.

What’s cool about this application is that it guides women by showing all the secure, partially secure, and unsecured places on the map, based on the reviews of other users. As a result of this, women can ensure the safety of a place before going there. This application lets women add their reviews about any place, which then makes the entire experience interactive and reliable.

This is an extremely efficient initiative that certainly deserves all the praise and one that needs to be shared with as many people as possible, to increase its visibility.
