Population Center Pakistan (PCP), a non-profit academic and educational organization in collaboration with Pakistan Youth Change Advocates (PYCA) and Bolo Jawan will be conducting a live webinar on “Youth and Sustainable Population Growth: Opportunities and Challenges.”

The webinar, which will go live with an audience of over 200 young people from universities across the country will be streamed live from BoloJawan’s Facebook page on 25th November, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Join us in a panel discussion on “Youth and Sustainable Population Growth” to enhance awareness among youth on population growth and its impact on socioeconomic indicators!

As its title – i.e. “Youth and Sustainable Population Growth: Opportunities and Challenges” – suggests, the webinar is aimed at making young people aware of the various population issues that continue to stunt Pakistan’s development and progress.

Among other topics, there will be a specific focus on enhancing the youth’s awareness vis-a-vis family planning issues, the positive impact of sustained population growth, responsibilities of parents in providing basic rights to their children by maintaining a balance between family and financial resources and the challenges in achieving sustained population growth, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The webinar will also feature a distinct panel of expert speakers.

Subject matter experts speaking on the panel will include Mr. Qadeer Baig – Chairman Family Education Service Foundation, Ms. Maryam Amjad – Program Manager AWAZ CDS and Hina Shikhani – Member UNHCR Global Youth Advisory Council.

In addition, Ms. Iram Kamran – Program Manager, Population Council will also share the key findings of Population Council’s research report, “Reproductive Health of Youth in Pakistan – Situation Analysis.”

During the webinar, Population Center Pakistan will also announce the winners of its national poster and essay competition.

This poster competition themed, “Striking a Balance for Sustainable Population Growth” was organized by PCP in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA).

Celebrities such as Shehzad Roy and Osman Khalid Butt have already put their support behind PCP’s campaign to ensure more young people are aware of the country’s population concerns and can play a more effective role to address them.

This webinar will be open for social media users for participation. Audience can view the live stream through BoloJawan’s Facebook page on the 25th of November from 4:00PM to 5:30PM.
