A Pakistan International Airlines aircraft, carrying 90 passengers and crew members onboard has crashed in a residential area near the Karachi Airport.
As per the confirmation received by PIA spokesperson Abdul Sattar the flight A-320 was flying from Lahore to Karachi. It is also being reported that the aircraft hit at least 3 to 4 houses during the crash.
Initial visuals coming from the site of the crash showed clouds of smoke and flames engulfing ground zero.
Civil administration, Army Quick Reaction Force and Sindh Pakistan Rangers have reached the site to lead the relief and rescue efforts.
A state of emergency has been declared in all the hospitals in Karachi following the crash.
