On Saturday, a heartwrenching video of domestic violence went viral on social media, where we could see three Peshawar men beat up their sister and mother with a motorcycle helmet and hammer over a property dispute.

The video was uploaded on social media by the woman’s son, who appealed to the Peshawar City Police Chief, Abbas Ahsan to help his family. He further added that his three maternal uncles thrashed his mother and grandmother while he was away from home.

He asked the police chief to prosecute the culprits.

The KP police took prompt action against the transgressors and took the perpetrators into custody. Two of them were arrested on Saturday while the third one was held on Sunday.
According to reports, Peshawar men confessed brutally hitting their sister over a property dispute as she asked for her share in inheritance. The mother got dragged in as she lunged to save her daughter from their wrath.
The victim told police that she had asked for her share in inheritance from the ten houses that her brothers had bought from their father’s money, but they couldn’t stand this demand, and eventually thrashed her.
She was later taken to a hospital for treatment.
The police have registered FIR against the accused under sections 354, 506, 337 (A), and 34 of PPC as the viral video garnered outrage on social media.
