PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) announced central contracts yesterday and besides naming Babar Azam as the ODI skipper the board also made some other interesting changes. So, here is a look at what exactly happened.

Babar Azam Named ODI Captain
The issue of ODI captaincy was left pending at the time former skipper Sarfraz Ahmed was dismissed. Nevertheless, the appointment of Babar Azam brings the matter to a close.
Also, Azhar Ali has been retained as Pakistan’s Test captain and hence, both Azhar and Babar alongside Shaheen Shah Afridi make it to the A category of the PCB central contracts.

Sarfraz Ahmed Survives Being Dropped
Former captain, Sarfraz Ahmed survived and therefore, is now part of the B category in the central contracts alongside fellow wicket-keeper batsman i.e. Mohd. Rizwan and others. Head coach and chief selector, Misbah-ul-Haq also made it clear that his regime plans to make use of Sarfraz’s experience in coming days.

Mohd. Amir, Wahab Riaz & Hasan Ali Dropped
