English Cricket Board has reassured fans once again that it will do what it can to ensure that the cricket summer is not called-off completely owing to COVID-19 and hence, there is this good probability of Pakistan’s T20s in England taking place later in the year. So, here is a look at five fast bowlers that chief selector and head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq must select for the aforesaid three match rubber so that they entire bench of quickies is ready before the ICC world T20 in Australia.

Shaheen Shah Afridi And Haris Rauf Should Be Pakistan’s Automatic Choices

While Shaheen Shah Afridi is an asset with both the new and the old ball; Haris Rauf should be front-runner for the green shirts during the middle and final overs of the series. Shaheen performed brilliantly during last year’s ICC ODI world cup and thus, is the leader of the pack as of now.

Haris Rauf on the other hand was highlight of last year’s Big Bash and therefore, should be a handy option during the ICC World T20 that is scheduled in Australia later in the year.

Naseem Shah And Mohd. Amir

Pakistan hasn’t played Naseem Shah for a variety of reasons in the shortest format of the game. Nevertheless, with a prestigious ICC event around the corner; Naseem has to be tried in the T20s as there is little or no doubt that he has the potential of forming a lethal pair with Shaheen Afridi particularly with the new ball early in the innings.

Mohd. Amir on the other hand has been discarded for a while now owing to his decision to ditch the Test format. Still, the left-arm pacer’s experience is likely to prove an asset both in English and Australian conditions. Thus, it just seems right for Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis to make up with him and move on.

The Case Of Mohd. Hasnain And Amir Yamin

Mohd. Hasnain has got the pace however, the youngster lacks control – something that can cost Pakistan big time both in England and Australia. Also he is pretty ordinary with the bat and has nothing special to offer as a fieldsman.

Therefore, while the green caps should keep an eye on Hasnain’s development as a complete international cricketer; the time is right to allow an all-rounder like Amir Yamin an opportunity during Pakistan’s T20s in England. Yamin had a good PSL before he got injured. Also he can bat a bit and seems to be a decent fielder.
