COVID 19 has left many of us in quarantine and so, here is a list of three Pakistan’s classic ODI victories in Australia (i.e. a place where the green shirts traditionally haven’t done well) that you can watch on You Tube while being stuck at home.

Pakistan vs Australia, Carlton & United Series at Hobart, Jan 7 1997

So, the year was 1997 when owing to injuries to Saeed Anwar, Mustaq Ahmed and Waqar Younis the skipper then i.e. Wasim Akram fielded a pretty inexperienced side against the hosts. Still, Pakistan ended up defending a meager total of 149 against an Aussie batting line that included the Waugh brothers as well as the great Australian batsmen like Michael Bevan and Mark Taylor.

Pakistan vs India, Carlton & United Series at Brisbane, Jan 10 2000

Pakistan and India were part of the Carlton and United Series that took place in Australia during the year 2000. Those were the days when Pakistan would literally thrash India every second game.

In Brisbane during the second match of the aforesaid series however, India had an upper hand until the point tail-enders Saqlain Mushtaq and Waqar Younis became part of a miraculous 43 run partnership that saw the men in green home in a low scoring affair.

Pakistan vs Australia at Melbourne (Docklands), Jun 15 2002

Pakistan toured Australia in 2002 under Waqar Younis for a three match ODI series and became the first Asian side to beat the Aussies at home in a bilateral limited over series. The green shirts lost the opening encounter however, they shocked the Australins in the next two games to achieve the feat.
