Omair Rana Finally Breaks Silence Over LGS Sexual Harassment Accusations

Omair Rana, who was accused of sexual harassment by several students of Lahore Grammar School (LGS), has rejected all such allegations breaking the silence almost three weeks after the allegations were first leveled.

The Pyar Ke Sadqay actor took to Twitter and said that he will be filing a complaint with the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) against those who have wrongfully accused him.

Omair Rana who taught drama classes at LGS was accused of sexual misconduct while his wife Maira Omair Rana who held an administrative position there was accused of turning a blind eye to the harassment cases brought to her.

Omair Rana tweeted, “Sexual harassment is a heinous crime and should be treated with the seriousness that it deserves.”

While rejecting the accusations the 42-year-old wrote, “For those who publish and fail to remove libelous material against me with an unconditional apology to me I will be approaching FIA under the prevention of Electronic Crimes Act.”

The Senate Committee on Human Rights has also taken notice of the sexual harassment cases at LGS and will be holding a meeting today.

Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, who heads the committee, took to Twitter and wrote that the meeting will be open to the parents who are concerned about the progress of the investigations.

Earlier this month, students of LGS 1A1 had alleged that their teacher, Omair Rana, would make inappropriate jokes and pass comments that made them feel uncomfortable. He was also accused of allegedly flirting with minor girls and exchanging inappropriate text messages.
