Mohd. Wasim in a recent interview has explained why all-rounder Imad Wasim was dropped after the T20i world cup and why in the opinion of the chief selector Mohd. Nawaz is a better option.

Explaining the reason behind the exclusion of Imad in Cricket Baaz with Waheed Khan, chairman of selection committee PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) said, “Imad’s performance in the recent past wasn’t up to the mark. He also has fitness issues which is why he is suffering. Currently, we have high fitness standards in the team. And, it is visible in team’s performance.”

On the other hand, Wasim also explained why Mohammad Nawaz is being preferred over Imad. Hence, while shedding light on the issue he said, “Looking at his performance, his fitness and performance are going good currently.”

It is worth mentioning here that Imad was ignored even during the absence of Nawaz who couldn’t participate during the home series against Australia owing to reasons relating to his fitness.
