Mohd. Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Shaheen Shah Afridi were recalled while Mohd. Amir and Wahab Riaz were sacked for the three T20 matches against Bangladesh as Misbah-ul-Haq overhauled the 15 member T20 squad yet again.
Those who were selected by Misbah-ul-Haq led selection committee include Babar Azam (c), Ahsan Ali, Amad Butt, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Khushdil Shah, Muhammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Husnain, Muhammad Rizwan, Musa Khan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi and Usman Qadir.
So, here is a look at a few talking points following the squad announcement.
Still No Place For Sarfaraz Ahmed, Abid Ali And Naseem Shah
Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, opening batsman Abid Ali and fast bowler Naseem Shah have all shown decent form of late and therefore, deserved to be part of Pakistan’s T20 squad perhaps ahead of Ahsan Ali, Amad Butt and Musa Khan.
However, selectors it seems want to allow Mohd. Rizwan another opportunity in the format.
In case of Naseem Shah on the other hand, perhaps they do not want to increase the young pacer’s workload at the moment.
Selecting Ahsan Ali ahead of Abid Ali nevertheless, makes little or no sense whatsoever.

Why Recalling Mohd. Hafeez, Shoaib Malik and Shaheen Shah Afridi Makes Sense
Shaheen Shah Afridi did not play the T20s against Sri Lanka and Australia owing to dengue fever. His return then was no surprise.
Mohd. Hafeez and Shoaib Malik case on the other hand was different. They were left in wilderness during the previous two series because Pakistani selectors clearly thought that they had grown far too old to represent the country in the format.
The decision then backfired and allowing both a comeback for sure, makes sense as Pakistan most definitely requires the experience of at least one of the two in the middle order during this year’s T20 world cup.
Why Mohd. Amir and Wahab Riaz Have Been Sacked

Mohd. Amir and Wahab Riaz to be fair were not up to the mark in the format for a while now. Also Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) needed to sack them to set an example for other cricketers in the country after both senior bowlers decided to retire form Test cricket, apparently, because playing T20 leagues had become a more lucrative an option for them.
Should Misbah-ul-Haq Be Asked To Adopt A Consistent Selection Policy
Head coach and chief selector has overhauled the T20 squad for the third time in as many series as he has had as a chief selector. With only a few months left before the start of the T20 world cup, Pakistan needs a settled unit if it is to win the mega event and hence, we just hope that PCB intervenes and asks him to be a little more consistent in his selection policy.

Haris Rauf And Usman Qadir Might Debut
The squad selection suggests that pacer Haris Rauf is likely to debut during the first T20 against the tigers. Usman Qadir on the other hand might have to wait a little more and Pakistan might play him later in the series, depending really on how Shahdab Khan performs during the rubber.
