Pakistan’s middle-order finally delivered during the #PakvsNZ #NZTriSeries final. It is worth mentioning here that Mohd. Nawaz, Haider Ali, Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed all contributed during the big game and so, here is a look at why the victory should help Pakistan prior to the #T20worldcup.

Pakistan during the last twelve months or so have not been able to win the big matches. They lost the T20 semi-final last year, they lost the final of #AsiaCup2022 this year and also lost the series decider against England. Hence, the five wicket victory today should allow them the confidence they desperately needed before flying to Australia for the ICC T20 world cup.

Particularly, Mohd. Nawaz (38 of 22 balls) and Haider Ali (31 of 15 balls) played brilliantly during the final to help Pakistan win the three nation series. Iftikhar Ahmed (25 of 14 balls) and Shan Masood (19 of 21 balls) too played decently to provide stability during Pakistan’s chase of 163 runs.

They have all received plenty of criticism over the last few weeks for not being good enough. Fans and media in the country have regularly demanded the inclusion of Shoaib Malik and Fakhar Zaman in Pakistan’s squad. However, today’s performance should ease pressure on them and hopefully, they will play with more freedom during the upcoming world cup.
