An accountability court on Friday dismissed an application filed against Maryam Nawaz by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for submitting a bogus trust deed; infamously known as #CalibriGate.

The dismissal of NAB’s petition to start legal proceedings came in light of the fact that Maryam Nawaz has already filed an appeal in Islamabad High Court regarding the Avenfield verdict and a petition regarding that case could only be entertained once IHC’s verdict was secured.
As expected, Pakistanis have shown an entire spectrum of reactions to the dismissal of the petition against Maryam Nawaz in #Calibrigate.

But it is not merely the verdict that has Pakistan divided. Maryam Nawaz’s “Free Nawaz Sharif” kurta too, has Pakistanis screaming everything from “Wow!” to “WTF!”
There are even photo-shopped versions of Maryam Nawaz’s “Free Nawaz Sharif” kurta doing rounds!
Isolated from the rants on both sides of the political divide in Pakistan, one thing stands quite true: Maryam Nawaz’s picture clad in the black kurta is now officially an iconic image that is likely to become a pop culture reference!
