Pakistan’s exit from the #T20WorldCup was unsurprising to experts. However, the disastrous campaign has left the green shirts exposed on numerous fronts, even in the eyes of their fans and so, here is a look at a few of them in detail.

From team selection to field placements, Babar’s captaincy was found lacking throughout the event. Even before the world cup, he looked out of sorts during the T20 series against New Zealand, Ireland and England. He struggled to keep the squad united and failed to maintain his composure during critical phases of the tournament. With his batting form declining once again, it would be beneficial for Pakistan to relieve him of the captaincy. However, PCB should avoid making him a scapegoat and instead make this decision with the intention of protecting their best batter across formats.
Pakistan’s batting and fielding were abysmal, reminiscent of their 90s style. For once, they were knocked out in the first round while playing such outdated cricket. Hopefully, this will make them realize that they have no choice but to adopt modern methods for future ICC events.
#T20WorldCup Explained Why Pakistan Is Not The Number One Bowling Line

Despite the hype, Pakistan’s bowling line failed to deliver against an inexperienced USA side. It was then that Pakistan needed the experience of their bowlers the most. However, once put under pressure, the bowling line crumbled in a manner which was both alarming and embarrassing. Going forward in the tournament, Pakistan could never really recover from the unexpected defeat.
The poor dressing room environment was a talking point throughout the ICC event. The country’s squad never looked like a united team and so, it is obvious that commentators and fans are asking for troublemakers to be axed.
