He was booked under Section 153 of the Pakistan Penal Code after a clip went viral on social media.

In the viral video Mirza had called for violence against various religious figures.

Despite Twitter uproar, the cleric might not be in police custody

As reported by Naya Daur, while a FIR has been registered, Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza might not be in police custody.

The publication also reported that the preacher was likely to release a video later in the day detailing the nature of the charges pressed against him and his current equation with the authorities. Mirza is also likely to address his critics in the video message.
