Bard of Blood, a Netflix original produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment has stirred up quite a conversation in the South Asian subcontinent.

The story revolves around an ex-RAW agent played by Emraan Hashmi, who was forced to quit after a failed mission in Balochistan (Pakistan) but is called back for an important task.

Bard of Blood will be released on 27 September.

It stars Emraan Hashmi, Vineet Kumar Singh Sobhita Dhulipala in main roles.

Bard of Bard is based on the book of the same name by Bilal Siddiuqi who wrote it when he was just 19.

It sheds light on the rise of global terror after 9/11 and geo-political tensions between India and Pakistan.

Pakistanis expressed their concerns regarding the anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistani theme of the show.

“Muslim actors are forced to promote hatred against Pakistan to prove themselves as patriotic Indians.”

One Pakistani wrote that Bollywood is using Muslims to promote Islamophobic content.

One user wrote that India might have confessed to its involvement in Balochistan through this series.

Another active Twitter user said that Muslims in Bollywood are producing jingoistic content to “please the Hindutva lynch mobs to survive.”

People are also calling India to make shows on their real life military personnel such as Kulbhushan Jadhav and Abhinandan.
