Last week, Emirates released an advert in which its flight attendant was seen standing on top of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa in full uniform. She stood at 830 meters above the ground.

Apparently, the flight carrier pulled off this stunt to celebrate the new travel plan issued for UAE by the UK. As the ad opened up, the air hostess could be seen holding five cards that spelled out a message which read: “Moving the UAE to the UK amber list has made us feel on top of the world.”

The video was filmed to express UAE’s gratitude towards the UK after exiting its red list and being upgraded to amber as travel rules changed.

In the video, once the camera zoomed out, the flight attendant Nicole Smith-Ludvik could be seen balanced – quite literally on top of the world’s tallest building – supported with harnesses.

Initially, people speculated that this could have been done in front of a green screen with special effects, but then Emirates released a BTS (behind the scenes) video to prove them all wrong.

Moreover, Nicole, the woman featured in the video is a skydiver and general adventurer, who pulled off the stunt in reality. What’s cooler is that she’s also a flight attendant, so this makes the advert even more genuine.

There are reports which detailed that she climbed all the way up on top of Burj Khalifa while becoming one of the very few people to have achieved this feat.

She described the whole experience in her own words,

This is, without a doubt, one of the most amazing and exciting stunts I’ve ever done. A big shout out to Emirates Airlines for your creative marketing idea! It was a pleasure being a part of the team.

The filming of the avert was pulled off by helicopter and drone filming company Chopper, produced by Prime Productions AMG and TECS Event.

Being part of such a special project – not only for the fact that we were trusted to help bring this to life (yes, this is very very real) but also what it means for so many families who have been separated from their families between here in Dubai and the UK. Definitely a project we’ll remember forever, TECS Event Services wrote of the campaign, on social media.

UK announced the exit of UAE and Bahrain from its red list on Wednesday. This upgrade will help boost tourism in both countries.
