Condolences Are Pouring In Following The Bomb Blast In Lahore Near Data Darbar As Pakistan Struggles To Get Through Another Dark Day!

Wednesday morning in Pakistan has started off on a very dark note as another suicide bomb blast hits the city of Lahore, this time in its heart called Data Darbar. According to the casualties reported by Dawn, so far 8 lives have been lost and 26 remain injured, bearing the brunt of the bomb blast in Lahore.

Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP), Arif Nawaz has confirmed in his press statement that police officials were the target of the attack, reason why the suicide bomber hit a police van, stationed near gate no 2 of the Data Darbar shrine. So far, 5 policemen have been martyred by the explosion.

Words of condolence are flooding the Pakistani internet. Political leaders from every quarter have taken to Twitter to condemn the heinous attack.

Other influential Pakistanis are also raising their voice in solidarity with the bereaved families.

The matter is still under investigation and no names have been taken as of yet. No militant group has claimed the responsibility of the attack as we write.

In the meanwhile, the holy shrine has been cordoned off by the police and security forces remain alert. A sense of fear is prevalent in the air and the nation mourns with the families who have lost their loved ones today.
