On a flat wicket Pakistan decided to bowl first and frankly, the decision made no sense. Former England captain, Michael Vaughan too was surprised and hence, while commenting on the entire episode he said, “England too strong but no idea why Pakistan bowled first. Anyway it sets up the last game.”

The wicket for the second T20 was most definitely prepared by the English grounds men to provide a dry run to the home side before the T20 world cup i.e. supposed to take place on wickets of similar nature in UAE. So, while the Englishmen played 3 spinners, Pakistan opted for two only.

For whatever reason, Haris Rauf has been ordinary for a while now. Pakistan could have so easily played Usman Qadir or Mohd. Nawaz instead. However, the think tank decided to play three seamers on a track that was tailor made for spinners. The decision clearly indicates that either the team management misread the conditions or they were just not smart enough!
