Asif Ali and Imad Wasim have been rested and hence, are not part of the 12 man squad that was announced today for the first PakvsBan T20 international.

Pakistan named a 12 man squad for the first of the three T20s that are to be played in Bangladesh. Imad Wasim and Asif Ali have been rested for the game. Mohd. Nawaz and Khushdil Shah are expected to replace them. Moreover, Hassan Ali might as well make way for Mohd. Wasim Jr. Mohd. Hafeez had earlier opted out of the tour. The squad consists of the following players.

Babar Azam (C), Shadab Khan (VC), Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Mohammad Wasim Jr., Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shoaib Malik

Talking to media after announcing the 12 man squad, skipper Babar Azam while expressing the resolve to continue the winning momentum said, “We want to continue the winning momentum and after this series, there are also matches against West Indies. We don’t want to take Bangladesh easy. We will test our bench strength too in the next matches.”
